Daniel Dubois returns to the ring to take on WBA “regular” champion Trevor Bryan in Miami. This looks like a good opportunity for the Greenwich-puncher to make it big again after losing to Joe Joyce in 2020.
Dubois is now working with coach Shane McGuigan and the 24-year-old will look to add more variety and a tighter defense to his skillset.
However, Dynamite still has plenty of power and he will likely make Bryan easy.
The American holds the hollow WBA belt while Oleksandr Usyk has risen to superchampionship, but the New Yorker’s record is spotty with 22 wins spread over 11 years.
Bryan has defeated Bermane Stiverne and BJ Flores, but Stiverne was in shocking form in a sham of a fight and Flores was a bloated cruiserweight.
The American has only fought twice since stopping from Flores in 2018 and you have to be amazed at Bryan’s stamina and dedication.
Dubois is unlikely to finish this fight in the first three rounds and that looks like a KO bet.
