ABOUT THE AGGIES
The Aggies enter the competition with a 17-1 record in games from one loss, losing just one straight game in 2022.
Schlossnagle joined a respected list of 13 past coaches to lead multiple schools to a College World Series. He is 30th Head coach who reached the CWS six times. He is the fifth Aggie coach to deserve an Omaha trip, after Beau Bell (1951), Tom Chandler (1964), Mark Johnson (1993 & 1999) and Rob Childress (2011 & 2017). Schlossnagle and Bell both earned travel in their first season at Aggieland.
Jack Moss stepped up his game in the postseason, earning all-tournament recognition at the SEC Tournament and the NCAA College Station Regional. He also received the Most Valuable Player award from College Station Regional. This postseason, Moss is batting .500 (21-42) in the SEC tournament and the NCAA tournament. He has seven carries, two doubles and seven RBI in nine games. Moss hit .643 (9-for-14) at the regional and had five runs, a double, five RBI and a stolen base. He has seven runs, two doubles and seven RBI in nine games. He has scored multiple times in eight of Aggie’s nine postseason games in 2022.
Dylan Rock recently received All-America Third Team recognition from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. stone, moss etc Austin Boston was also named an All-Central Region First Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
The Aggies smashed 82 home runs during the 2022 campaign. It marks Texas A&M’s highest tally record since hitting 85 in the 2009 season. The Aggies have hit 70 offenses only once since 2009, up from 70 in 2015. The Aggies stole 78 bases during the 2022 campaign . It is Texas A&M’s highest stolen base mark since registering 85 in the 2013 season.
Texas A&M and Texas have previously met in 373 games, with the Longhorns holding the all-time lead in the series at 239-129-5. The two programs first feuded in 1904 and resulted in the Aggies falling 8–4. The Maroon & White and Longhorns met annually from 1915 to 2012 before the Aggies left for the greener pastures of the Southeastern Conference. Since joining the SEC, the Aggies have held a 5-4 lead in the series against the Longhorns.
The Maroon & White have won their last three games, including a 3-0 win at Austin this season and a 12-9 win at Austin this year. The Aggies were powered by jack moss cycle and a Dylan Rock Grand Slam. Moss hit it 5-on-5 with two runs, a double, a triple, a home run and five RBI. Rock was 3-for-4 with three carries, a double, a home run, an HBP and five RBI.
