One of the biggest deal-breaking features of movies and TV shows that people despise these days is when the creators/directors/showrunners lighten the atmosphere of the feature (which is common in DC and Marvel productions). Spawn, however, is not subjected to this type of treatment.
Viewers who want a fresh experience need not worry as the upcoming Spawn Movie looks pretty promising. It’s being produced by creator Todd McFarlane, who has been working on it for quite some time.

All about the upcoming movie from Image Comic’s Spawn
Spawn is one of Image Comics’ antihero characters that has been around since the ’90s. The character first appeared in Spawn #1 was released in May 1992 and subsequently received its 1997 standalone film starring Michael Jai White as Al Simmons/Spawn.
The 1997 film, despite the critics blasting it, is now set to get a new movie as a reboot has been announced in the works. Todd McFarlane, the man who made the character, has been pushing for a sequel since 1998 and will helm production for the reboot.

The film’s script is complete, according to McFarlane (who finished it first, but it’s now being rewritten by Brian Tucker), and along with him will be Scott Silver, Malcolm Spellman and Matthew Nixon directing the film – the first two already writing for joker and The Hawk and the winter soldier respectively.
It will also have Django Unchained Star Jamie Foxx in the role of Spawn, who is joined by Jeremy Renner aka Marvel’s Hawkeye in the role of Twitch. There is no update on who else will be added to the cast, maybe an ensemble? But the presence of Foxx alone makes the film worth seeing.

Fans are excited for news from the new writers of Spawn
The upcoming film has been hailed by DC fans (many of them Zack Snyder fans too) as well as Marvel fans who just want a break from all the happy and light-hearted tone of Marvel & DC TV shows and movies suspense awaited extinguished.

They made their voices quite loud when they announced that they really appreciate McFarlane actually trying to make a “serious” film compared to their Marvel & DC peers.
Joker style spawn movie can be a masterpiece. I’m glad that after the huge success of the Joker, CBM has become darker and more serious, a real phenomenon.

Spawn is shaping up to be an exciting production that we need to pay attention to producing. We’re pretty excited to see what DC will come up with after the success Joker.
The film has no release date yet.
