When the Queen celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, Cheryl played a big part in the celebrations – appearing at the Palace Concert and standing behind Her Majesty when she came on stage to greet the crowd at the end.
But ten years later, Cheryl stopped starring when the Queen celebrated her platinum anniversary, which — we’re told — has at times brought her to tears and reassessed her career. “It feels like yesterday when Cheryl performed at the Palace with Gary Barlow – it really was one of the highlights of her career,” a source told Heat.

“So this anniversary was pretty bittersweet because for Cheryl it was a reminder of how much her life has changed. The decade in between was tough, with ups and downs, viz [her son]Bear is by far the best thing that has happened to her, she feels there have been some mistakes and missed opportunities. Sometimes she wishes she could go back with a wand and change a few things to make her life different.”
After the Diamond Jubilee, Cheryl – then at the height of her popularity as the nation’s darling – had a short-lived marriage to French businessman Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini after divorcing her first husband, Ashley Cole.

She became a first-time mother in 2017 after giving birth to son Bear, but her relationship with his father Liam Payne soon ended and she has been single ever since. Her career hasn’t lived up to expectations either and she hasn’t done anything in a few years other than promoting Feel Vitamins on Instagram. And we’re told she feels she could do a lot more.
“Cheryl’s biggest regret is her career – she’s still amazed at how she’s managed to go from such a high to where she is now,” we’re told.
“She knows that everyone has their 15 minutes and that it’s hard to stay on top, but her plan was to move from being a pop star into songwriting and artist management and into television. But that didn’t really happen.”

The source continues, “She’s been trying to rebuild for the past six months. She will be turning 40 next year and would like one last chance to restart her career and ideally find someone to settle down with. Bear is wonderful, but she really wants a man to share her life with.”
