Sports town taverna is a new sports bar at 5711 Golden Triangle Blvd. in Fort Worth, which opened in July. The menu staples are burgers, pizza, and beer, but they also serve tacos, wings, and even the occasional appetizer like salmon, desserts like Italian cream pie, and breakfast eggs and pancakes (though they’re not open). until 11am, but on the other hand they stay open until 2am). Lunch specials include a Philly cheesesteak with fries, turkey sub, ham sub, and gyros sandwich. The interior is dotted with big-screen TVs, and they also have a huge patio on the side of the building with fairy lights and seating for 40.
Roadrun’r Exotic Granola Bar is a cereal bar now located in Arlington at 1201 W. Arbrook Blvd. is open and serving muesli, whether simple as in a bowl with Frosted Flakes or as an extreme dessert as in Frosted Flakes with whipped cream, ice cream and gummy bears. Corresponding FWTXit’s the first granola bar of its kind in Tarrant County.
Las Pericas, a Mexican restaurant at 915 E. Northside Dr. in Fort Worth, has closed. The restaurant posted the news on its Facebook page, stating: “Due to personal reasons, we remain closed until further notice. Thank you for your support and loyalty which has allowed us to continue our business. We hope to serve you again in the future.”
Little Lilly Sushithe one-of-a-kind award-winning sushi spot on Camp Bowie Blvd., reopened on August 26th. The restaurant, named after the granddaughter of chef and co-owner Danny Liu, had been closed since May following a kitchen fire.
Let’s go has opened (another) new location, this time in Arlington at 938 N. Cooper St. The chain, known for inexpensive salads to go, is on the verge of opening 20 locations in DFW.
Whistle BritishChef Omar Flores’ fried chicken concept, features new menu items including roasted cauliflower with buffalo roast with ranch dressing, corn fritters and grilled chicken Fredo with fusilli pasta, at all three locations in Southlake, Plano and Dallas.
Sweet Lucy’s Pies, the Fort Worth made-to-order cake company that delivers to both farmers markets and home delivery, has a new late summer menu of cakes priced from $38 to $40 including: Earl Gray Lemon Icebox, a buttermilk cake topped with whipped cream on a graham cracker crust; Blueberry Banana, with blueberries, bananas, and cream cheese on a flaky crust; whiskey peach buttermilk, also on a flaky crust; and a cherry galette, in a rustic folded crust. El Pollo Loco has a new quesadilla with shredded chicken, mild tomato salsa, melted cheese, diced onions and cilantro. It comes bundled with a drink and tortilla chips for $5. It joins three other combos: classic chicken burrito, original pollo bowl, and tacos al carbon.
La Madeleine has new menu items for fall including Pumpkin Streusel Muffin, Chai Tea Latte, Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Caramel Apple Danish (available after Labor Day).
7-Eleven has two new pizzas: Breakfast Pizza with Gravy, Mozzarella Cheese, Cheddar Cheese and Breakfast Sausage; and Veggie with diced red bell pepper, green bell pepper, white onion and sliced mushrooms. They also launched the 7Collection, an online store featuring 7-Eleven-themed t-shirts, hats, and memorabilia.
Smoothie King has a new espresso that can be added to any smoothie, with 159mg of caffeine per 20-ounce drink (double the 83mg of caffeine in their Cold Brew). For example, you could add an espresso to their coffee mocha smoothie with Sunwarrior Organic plant-based protein, banana, dates, Califia Farms oat milk, and cocoa.

Black Rock coffee bar is offering a new fall drink selection from September 1st to October 31st, including Pumpkin Blondie, Salted Caramel Chai, Candied Cranberry Fuel and Caramel Apple Smoothie, which combine ice cream, green apple base, caramel, ice and whipped cream.
