Celtic are in advanced talks about signing Dundee United keeper Benjamin Siegrist.
The 30-year-old is out of contract at Tannadice this summer and has spoken to a number of interested clubs.
Celtic are looking for additional competition for Joe Hart after Vasilis Barkas is on a season’s loan to Utrecht.
Scott Bain is currently Hart’s back-up – but the Swiss keeper Siegrist could also be brought in now.
He spent four years at Tannadice after starting his career at Aston Villa and is understood to have options in England too, with Preston and Ipswich Town keen to sign him.
Celtic also continue their pursuit of Lanus left-back Alexandro Bernabei.
The clubs have not yet agreed on a player valuation, with reports in Argentina suggesting Lanus are looking for a deal worth around £4million for the 21-year-old.
Meanwhile, Ajax have added themselves to the list of clubs interested in Celtic target Vinicius Souza.
The defensive midfielder plays for Belgian club Lommel, part of City Football Group.
Sky Sports News understand the CFG would prefer him to go on loan to Celtic but the decision will be left to the player and his agent, who have some reservations about his move to the Scottish Premiership.
PSV, Bologna, Fenerbahce and Club Brugge are also keen on the Brazilian.

Analysis: Siegrist can push Hart into first place
Former Celtic full-back Mark Wilson told Sky Sports News:
“Ange Postecoglou built a team practically from scratch and if you look at the full squad, he has competition in many positions. But there are still positions that need to be filled.
“The goalkeeping area may need to be addressed as a replacement for Joe Hart with Vasilis Barkas out the door. Maybe a defensive midfielder and maybe a competitor at left-back so a player or two need to come in.
“Celtic fans will be much happier with the way the squad looks than they were at the start of last year. Benjamin Siegrist has been fantastic at Dundee Utd and you only have to look at where they ended up fourth in the table. You need solid defence, but you also need someone behind you and he’s been fantastic for a number of years.
“Siegrist is someone who can really push Joe Hart. It may take a bit for him to settle in, but I think he could push him to first place next season.”
