Caroline Flack’s mother says ‘sadness doesn’t go away’ after star’s death

Caroline Flack’s mother Christine Flack has revealed how she is coping with the grief of losing her beloved daughter more than two years after her death, as the star’s friends and family gather to celebrate her at Flackstock.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain with former Love Island presenter Natalie Pinkham’s girlfriend, Christine said the “sadness never goes away” after their daughter took her own life in February 2020 aged 40.

She got emotional as she admitted that while she doesn’t think the feeling will ever really leave her, she knows he still has to “move on with things” and was excited to help with the planning and organization of Flackstock help.

Natalie, Leigh Francis and Dawn O’Porter came up with the idea of ​​hosting a themed festival in honor of their friend who, following calls from fans, may have named the Love Island Aftersun Bar after her, set to take place on July 25th.

Speaking to hosts Kate Garraway and Adil Ray, Christine said: “She loved to dance, she loved to sing, she loved festivals.

“There was such negativity when she died that she would have really liked that.”

“I think that’s the best way to celebrate them,” Christine continued. “She’s been thinking about people’s feelings … this will only be positive … we’ll sing, dance, we’ll probably cry.”

When Kate asked how she was doing now, Christine explained: “I’m just really sad and I don’t think that feeling is going to go away.

Fighting back tears, the guest continued: “There is a sadness but everyone has to move on with things. The sadness never goes away.”

Speaking about why hosting the festival was so important to her, Natalie explained that there will be comedy, music and even dance performances for people to enjoy.

“Because of the pandemic, we weren’t able to hold a memorial service for her … we’re trying to create a positive legacy for her,” she added.

Caroline’s Strictly Come Dancing friends Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec will also make special appearances at the event.

There will also be music from Louise Redknapp, Fleur East and ’90s icon Natalie Imbruglia.
