Despite some controversy that will likely haunt the actor for the rest of his life, Dior has stood by Johnny Depp during his tumultuous divorce from Amber Heard, even after allegations of domestic violence. But it has paid off for the company. After Depp won his defamation lawsuit against Heard in 2022, Dior’s profits and sales of Sauvage, the eau de cologne for which Depp is their key spokesman, have skyrocketed. The company made $4.5 million in a single day after the Depp V. Heard verdict was announced.
Whether you side with Depp or not, there’s no arguing that keeping Depp was a profitable move for the fashion giant. But Depp is far from being her first celebrity spokesperson model. Dior has a more than 30-year history of successfully using celebrity ambassadors, and not just because of their fragrances. Her bags and dresses have been endorsed by the likes of Mila Kunis and Rihanna, and her feminine fragrances have been endorsed by Charlize Theron, among others. These are some of the biggest names to act as spokespeople for Dior and Dior products.

8th Marion Cotilard
French actress from The Dark Knight rises and award-winning films such as Midnight in Paris was a knockout as a model for the Lady Dior line and the famous Dior line of purses and handbags. She has participated in over 10 advertising campaigns for the brand and continues to use the bags in her everyday life. She has been with the company since 2008.
7 Mila Kunis
The star of family Guy and That 70’s show has been modeling for the brand’s clothing since 2012 and her face has been featured in magazine and television ads. She was with the company for a year before handing over the job to another popular actress, Jennifer Lawerence. Kunis got the job shortly after her co-star Black Swan, Natalie Portman took on the role.

Rihanna is no stranger to the fashion world. She has her own line of fashion, makeup and accessories and runs a successful and hugely popular makeup tutorial channel on YouTube. But she also turned heads when the famously sultry singer wore a sheer Dior dress at her show during Paris Fashion Week in 2022. Rihanna also endorsed a classic collection by Dior that same year.
5 Jennifer Lawrence
After Mila Kunis said goodbye, the Oscar winner stepped in for her. Lawrence has been with the company since 2013 and continues to model regularly for TV and magazine commercials. She not only modeled for her clothing and handbag lines, but also for her fragrances. She was the model for her campaign for Joy, a perfume, in 2018. Jennifer Lawrence continues to model for Christian Dior products regularly.
4 Charlize Theron
The actress has been part of Dior’s advertising campaigns since 2010, the same year the company also hired Jennifer Lawrence as an ambassador. But Theron wasn’t just hired as an ambassador, Dior made her the face of their flagship fragrance, J’Adore. The commercials, which have seen the actress surrounded and covered in gold, have been making the rounds since she first aired on TV. She is one of the company’s longest-serving ambassadors.
3 Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman was a Dior ambassador before Mila Kunis, her co-star in the ballet film Black Swan, was. Portman was most prominently featured in her ads for Miss Dior perfumes. She was also the face of their makeup and beauty product advertising campaign for several years.

Johnny Depp is not the first male actor to represent Christian Dior products. Jude Law was also a model for her line of men’s fragrances before Depp, but because Depp’s court case was so much in the spotlight, his face arguably sold a lot more cologne than Law ever did. Jude Law looks good in his ads, but Sauvage is currently breaking sales records. Like Depp, Dior has stood by Jude Law despite some controversy in the past, such as when he cheated on his wife with their baby’s nanny in the early 2000s. That controversy, long forgotten by fans, had little to no impact on the company’s decision to work with Law. It seems Dior isn’t quick to “cancel” or judge its models. The commercial he starred in for Dior was directed by legendary director Guy Ritchie.

To dusk made the British actor a household name, he needed more work to prove he could be taken seriously. He was the face of the brand’s colognes before Johnny Depp signed with the company in 2015. He is the face of their fragrance Homme and has been with the company for several years now. It’s funny to think about The Batman as a supermodel, but then again, Bruce Wayne posing for a Cologne commercial would be the perfect cover for him to maintain his playboy image. It’s just funny to think of The Batman only modeling for Christian Dior.
