Bears is a partner in the Her Game Too campaign

The fan-led, voluntary organization, first launched in May 2021, focuses on ensuring women and girls are equally welcome and respected in sport.

First launched in May 2021, #HerGameToo has already partnered with Bristol City as well as dozens of professional football clubs including Leeds United and Everton.

Whether a player; Whether as a coach, referee, volunteer, staff or spectator, Bristol Bears is committed to ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our whole community.

Caz May, one of the founders of Her Game Too, said: “We are delighted to be taking our #HerGameToo campaign to the world of rugby union and to have a club the size of Bristol Bears as our very first official partnership is huge is honor for us.

“We recognize that the atmosphere for spectators at rugby union matches is already very family-friendly – so we will be working in partnership with Bristol Bears to focus primarily on other key areas – alongside increasing and promoting female participation in the game.”

Sophie Halhead, Bears Women board member and former England international, added: “At Bristol Bears we believe rugby is a sport where everyone involved is equally welcome and respected and are therefore delighted to support the #HerGameToo campaign.

“Bristol Bears is committed to ensuring a safe and comfortable environment; whether on the pitch as a player or official, on the sidelines as a coach or paramedic, behind the scenes as a staff member or volunteer, or in the stands as a spectator.

“#HerGameToo has a strong following in other sports such as cricket and football. As the first rugby club to support this campaign, we hope to raise awareness within our game so we can continue the momentum of the campaign and ensure rugby is safe and fun for all.”
