HBO Max loses everything once again Harry Potter Movies when they return to another streaming platform. The eight-movie series, adapted from the seven books by JK Rowling, was extremely popular throughout its run and went on to become one of the biggest movie franchises of all time, grossing billions of dollars worldwide. HBO Max even held those Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts Special earlier this year that reunited the golden trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson with fellow cast members and original director Chris Columbus to talk about the films.
All eight Harry Potter Movies were available on HBO Max at launch in May 2020, but left the company after 90 days and moved to Peacock. HBO Max managed to get the rights back in September 2021 and also has all three Fantastic Beasts Movies set in the wizarding world before Harry’s time. The 2020 films switch to NBCUniversal’s Peacock came around the time of Rowling’s controversial comments about transgender people, but the streaming platform confirmed it Harry Potter The removal of films related only to license terms. Now these conditions have led to another change.

It could be many Harry Potter Fans without a Peacock subscription who are frustrated by this change. However, it is nice for Harry Potter Fans to have all eight movies on one platform with a free tier option like Peacock compared to HBO Max’s $14.99 per month. HBO Max still has the reunion and Fantastic Beastsand the possible development of a Harry Potter A TV show might also be enough to reassure those disappointed with the films’ demise.
