LOS ANGELES – The Powerball jackpot is “nearing world record territory”, hitting around $1.5 billion after no one matched all six numbers in Wednesday night’s draw, lottery officials said.
Although there was no California jackpot winner for this draw, there were 962,544 winning tickets that matched between a single Powerball and 5 numbers, according to California Lottery officials.
The top two winning tickets both match five numbers. One was sold in Ontario at the Eastland Food Market located at 1072 E. G Street. The other was sold to Milpitas at 7-Eleven located at 1838 Milmount Drive.

For the Powerball Halloween Night draw, a lucky ticket sold in Mid-City matched 5 numbers. This note was worth $790,000.
The current jackpot has been rolling since a player from Pennsylvania won the $206.9 million Powerball jackpot on August 3.
Lottery officials said the current jackpot ranks as the 2nd largest in Powerball history, only behind Powerball’s world record $1.586 billion jackpot and the 3rd largest in lottery history. American.
