Personally, I would have taken some of these stories to my grave.

Nick reached out to Priyanka via Twitter in 2016, writing, “I’m hearing from some mutual friends that we should meet up” — to which she replied, “My team can read that. Why don’t you just write me?” The two are now married and have a child together.
2.
Less successful: Demi Lovato and Emily Hampshire

“You shoved in my DMs and said, ‘Hey, I like you on the show. “And then underneath you said, ‘And with Kick it, I mean go on a date. I find you attractive.’ You made it clear it was a date.” Although Emily thought Demi was too young for her, the two became friends.
3.
Successful: Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams

“Have you seen these memes from ‘Slide Into the DMs’? That. He slipped into my DMs,” Sarah explained in 2018. “I thought he was funny and he was a fan of [my] Show. I saw him bartender and I was like, ‘That’s really cute!'” The two are currently engaged.
4.

That Too hot to touch Alum revealed that he sent and didn’t send many messages to the rapper just to be read. “Saweetie, I know you’re looking at this,” he said earlier this year. “I’m in love with you. Please answer.”
5.
Successful: Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas

Sophie said their mutual friends had been trying to get them together for some time, but it was Joe who made the first move. “We followed each other on Instagram and he sent me a direct message one fine day out of the blue,” she recalled in 2019. The two are now married and expecting their second child together.
6.
Less successful: Drake and Mia Khalifa (probably)

When Mia was asked in 2015 which celebs had slipped into her DMs, Mia said a man whose name rhymed with “Rake” sent her a half-naked picture via Instagram. “It was flattering, but his intentions were clear. It was just so pathetic,” she added.
7.
Successful: Amber Riley and Desean Black

Amber first slid into Desean’s DMs after spotting him on social media, writing: “Hey Desean how are you?” – to which he replied: “Hey babe I’m great and you???” The both separated a few months ago, but were engaged for two years.
8th.
Less successful: Steve Aoki and Iggy Azalea (probably)

Iggy shared a TikTok last year revealing the DMs she’s received from many celebs – without their names but including their follower count. A few sleuths were able to figure out who the senders were likely to be — including Steve, who appeared to have offered her $15,000 to talk.
9.
Successful (depending on who you ask): Elon Musk and Grimes

Elon slipped into Grimes’ Twitter DMs in 2018 for some good old AI banter. The musician and the billionaire have since split, but have two children together.
10
Less successful: Bella Thorne and Cole Sprouse

In 2017, Bella responded to a series of Instagram Story pictures of Cole with a simple, “Wow.” Just one small problem — it wasn’t Cole she was texting with, it was a fan account. She quickly deleted the message.
11.
Successful: Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef

Ricky first reached out to his now-husband via Instagram to talk about his art. “Then we talked for about six months without my hearing his voice. We talked about art — nothing sexy,” he said in 2017. “I swear, nothing sexy. It was about art and life in general. He used to live in London, I went to London and met him.”
12.
Moderately successful: Lizzo and Chris Evans

Lizzo shared in a TikTok last year that she drunkenly DMed America’s Ass to “shoot her shot” – to which he replied, “No shame on a drunk DM. God knows I did worse on that app.” It doesn’t seem like the two actually met after that, but it at least gave us a smile.
13.
Successful: Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson

Although the two actually first met in IRL – “a very, very long time ago” – it took Holland a decade later to reach out to Sarah via a Twitter DM for their relationship to begin. “We kind of flew past each other and then started following each other on Twitter… and then…” Sarah told Andy Cohen in 2019.
